WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. — A suspect was arrested Thursday, March 5, 2026, after Walnut Ridge police investigated a report alleging sexual contact involving an animal, according to authorities.
Crystal Honeycutt, 25, was arrested on a charge of bestiality, a Class A misdemeanor. Jail records also list a charge of cruelty to animals.
According to the affidavit, officers were dispatched Feb. 25, 2026, to a residence on Lawrence 434 to speak with a witness who reported an incident involving Honeycutt. The witness told police she had gone to the home a few days earlier to use the Honeycutts’ washer and dryer.
The witness told officers she knocked on the door and was invited inside by Honeycutt. When the door opened, the witness reported seeing Honeycutt engaging a dog in sexual behavior, according to the affidavit.
Walnut Ridge Police Chief Jamie Ferrell confirmed the arrest and said the department hopes the case raises awareness about protecting animals.
“The Walnut Ridge Police Department recently arrested Crystal Honeycutt,” Ferrell said in a statement. “Mrs. Honeycutt and her husband Daniel Honeycutt do not need to own or possess any animals.”
“As I have stated to other media outlets, the goal here is to raise public awareness to prevent animals from being harmed by individuals who should not own them,” Ferrell said.
Bail had not yet been set as of Friday morning and is expected to be determined later in the day.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
