Christmas Community Picnic Returns to Jonesboro with Free Toys, Food, and Family Activities

JONESBORO, AR — As the holiday season approaches, the Neighbors in Need NEA group, in partnership with the McCullough-Watkins Youth Foundation (MWYF), will host a Christmas Community Picnic on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at St. Bernard’s Auditorium, 505 East Washington, Jonesboro.

The event is designed to support local families, particularly those facing financial challenges during the holiday season. With the rising cost of living and wages remaining relatively low, organizers say the goal is simple: to help families enjoy the holidays while ensuring no one is turned away.

“Our goal is to help low-income families, but this event is really for the entire community,” said Dillon/Everett. “We want everyone to feel welcome and cared for during the holiday season.”

Families who attend can expect a warm, family-friendly environment featuring free toys for youth while supplies last, holiday activities for children, food and drinks, music, and a visit from Santa. Parents will also have the opportunity to take photos of their children with Santa.

“A fun, family-loving vibe is the goal,” Dillon/Everett added. “There will be upbeat music, food, toys being passed out, and activities for kids throughout the event.”

Organizers say the event would not be possible without the support of local sponsors and community partners. At this time, toy donations and volunteers are the greatest needs, with volunteers especially needed to assist with serving meals and helping with event activities.

“Toys and donations toward toys are the biggest need right now,” said Dillon/Everett. “Volunteers to help serve meals are also critical. Community support is what makes this event possible.”

Community members are encouraged to donate, volunteer, or attend and take part in spreading holiday cheer.

“This is a great opportunity to put love and support for one another into action,” Dillon/Everett said.
