Deputies Say Probationer Found With 50 Grams of Suspected Meth

JONESBORO, Ark. — A Craighead County defendant is accused of possessing more than 50 grams of suspected methamphetamine after deputies served a warrant at a home on the 2900 block of Greenbriar Road, according to an affidavit from the Craighead County Sheriff’s Office.

On Nov. 30, 2025, deputies arrived to locate Joe W. Ladd, 43, who had a felony probation warrant out of Fulton County. They found him in the driveway and detained him. Deputies also knew Ladd to be on probation.

A probation search of Ladd’s vehicle led deputies to a pill bottle with the labels missing. Inside were 14 peach-colored pills identified as amphetamine/dextroamphetamine, the affidavit said.

Deputies then conducted a probation search of Ladd’s residence. Inside, evidence they located included:

  • 5.04 grams of suspected methamphetamine on a plate
  • Two clear baggies weighing 22.3 grams of suspected methamphetamine
  • A bowl containing 8.8 grams of suspected methamphetamine

The total suspected methamphetamine located weighed 50.14 grams, according to the affidavit.

Deputies also found a homemade bong believed to have been used for smoking suspected methamphetamine, along with a working set of digital scales. Ladd was transported to the Craighead County Detention Center pending a probable cause hearing.

Ladd was arrested for:

  • Possession of meth or cocaine greater than 2 grams but less than 200 grams with purpose to deliver (Class A felony)
  • Possession of a Schedule I or II drug (D felony)
  • Drug paraphernalia (D felony)

Bail was set at $100,000 cash or surety.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
