Bono Man Accused of Sexual Assault of a Minor

BONO, Ark. — A Bono man is facing a Class B felony charge of sexual assault on the allegation in a case involving a child victim.

On Sept. 8, 2025, a detective with the Bono Police Department spoke with a complainant in reference to an alleged sexual assault of a minor, according to the probable cause affidavit. The complainant was instructed to file a report through the ASP Crimes Against Children Division. An investigator was assigned to interview the alleged victim and the victim’s mother.

Detective Don Morgan observed the interview from an on-site observation room. The victim stated she remembered it being the day after school was out for Labor Day, Sept. 2. She returned home from school and was doing her homework in her bedroom when Morris Jackson entered the room. She told investigators he began tickling her, leading to him grabbing her by the wrist and ankle. The victim complained that it hurt.

However, the incidents went further, according to the affidavit. The victim told police Jackson made inappropriate contact with her private areas. When shown a drawing and asked where, she identified genital contact. The victim stated this type of abuse had occurred before this incident, too.

The mother walked into the room and caught Jackson in a compromising position, the affidavit said. A verbal altercation occurred, and the mother told the suspect never to come back there again.

Jackson claimed to the police that the child was complaining about her knee hurting, and he went and kissed her knee, then began biting her on the leg. However, authorities were told the child’s pants and underwear were removed. When confronted with that detail, Jackson reportedly told investigators to ask her about that.

Jackson was asked if he had ever touched any of the children inappropriately, allegedly stating that he slapped and pinched them on their butts.

Morris Gerald Jackson, 71, was arrested Sept. 16 for second-degree sexual assault, a Class B felony.

On Sept. 17, Judge David Boling set bail at $150,000 cash or surety with a no-contact order to protect the victim.

Jackson’s next court appearance is set for October 30, 2025.
