JONESBORO, Ark. – A major upgrade is coming to Allen Park, located at 3906 Race Street, thanks to a more than $189,000 grant from the Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism, matched by the City of Jonesboro.

In partnership with Jonesboro Parks and Recreation, the project will deliver a fully inclusive playground and splash pad—creating a space where all children, regardless of ability, can safely play and engage together.

The new amenities will include:

Wheelchair-friendly surfacing

A We-Go-Round and sensory play structures

Braille panels and shaded seating areas

An all-inclusive splash pad

With nearly one in four residents living with a disability, city leaders say this investment ensures that every child in Jonesboro has the opportunity to play, learn, and grow in a space designed for comfort, accessibility, and connection.
