Five A-State Alumni Earn Medical Degrees from NYITCOM at A-State

JONESBORO, Ark. — Five Arkansas State University alumni were among the 104 new physicians who earned their medical degrees from New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine last week.

Brandon Doty, Kinlee (Ferguson) Mann, Hallie Henderson, Briar Morrow, and Kelsey Vinson all earned their undergraduate degrees from A-State before matriculating to NYITCOM at A-State to complete their Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree. NYITCOM at A-State celebrated its annual Commencement & Hooding Ceremony on Friday, May 23, at First National Bank Arena.

After finishing medical school, physicians must complete specialty training to earn board certification. Doty will specialize in Internal Medicine at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, while Mann will perform her residency in OB/GYN at Baptist Memorial Health System in Memphis. Henderson and Morrow will specialize in Anesthesiology, Henderson at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio and Morrow at St. Louis University in St. Louis, Mo. Vinson will remain in Jonesboro to receive her Family Medicine training at UAMS Northeast.

Doty, Henderson, and Vinson are all Jonesboro natives, while Morrow is from Paragould and Mann is from Hornbeak, Tenn. Additionally, the Class of 2025 included Jonesboro native Claudia Vestal, who will perform her residency in Internal Medicine at San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Center.

NYITCOM at A-State, which opened in 2016 through a private/public partnership between Arkansas State University and New York Institute of Technology on Long Island, N.Y., operates out of Wilson Hall. The Class of 2025 was the sixth to graduate from NYITCOM’s Jonesboro campus.
