JONESBORO, Ark. — A man is accused of a felony charge of battery after a probable cause affidavit alleged he physically attacked his pregnant girlfriend.
The affidavit says officers with the Jonesboro Police Department responded on Dec. 15 to a residence on Roseclair in regards to a domestic disturbance. Officers met with the alleged victim who said she is nine months pregnant. She explained that before officers arrived, she and the suspect had been arguing, so she decided to leave to let things settle down.
When she returned, the suspect continued to argue. That’s when he reportedly made the claim the child she was pregnant with was not his, and he wished she would abort it. The woman stated the suspect began to throw belongings she had acquired for the child. She tried to get him to stop and he allegedly attacked her, dragging her around the residence by her shirt and arms.
The alleged victim was able to get up and force the suspect out of the residence. The affidavit alleges he grabbed her by her hair and pulled it from her head, throwing it on top of the apartment complex.
The woman had several scratches, bruises, and welts on her right arm, police observed.
Zion Mu Fea Dre Al Jackson, 23, of Forrest City, was arrested on a felony charge of third-degree domestic battery against a pregnant woman, a Class D felony. On Monday, Dec. 16, Judge David Boling set bail at $30,000 cash or surety, ordering no contact with the victim.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
