HOXIE, Ark. — A felony warrant served over the weekend in Hoxie led to the arrest of a man on multiple child endangerment charges.

On Saturday, August 24, officers from the Hoxie Police Department served a felony warrant on Allen  Winemiller at his residence, a media release said. The warrant for his arrest was for felony and misdemeanor drug paraphernalia charges. Once in custody, an SIS compliance check was conducted on the residence where both felony and misdemeanor items were located, according to police, who also added there were four minors in the home.

Winemiller was then transported to Lawrence County Detention Center where he is being held for the warrant with the additional charges of possession of schedule VI, less than four ounces, a misdemeanor; felony possession of drug paraphernalia; and four charges of second-degree endangering the welfare of a minor, a misdemeanor.

The warrant stems from an incident on June 29 in Hoxie, according to a probable cause affidavit filed on August 21 in Lawrence County Circuit Court. The affidavit says Officer Jason Bristow was patrolling the area of North Texas Street when he noticed a vehicle with tags that didn’t match the make and model. A traffic stop was conducted, with Winemiller, the driver, already being on probation.

The officer searched the vehicle and found suspected drug paraphernalia in the form of a glass meth pipe and a smoking device for marijuana. Winemiller was taken to the police department, where he was interviewed and then released from custody.

Winemiller was already facing charges for possession of meth or cocaine, less than two grams, and drug paraphernalia, from an incident on May 28.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
