JONESBORO, Ark. — Jonesboro Economical Transit (JETs Bus Line) will be providing complimentary rides on its fixed bus routes this Saturday, Aug. 3, 2024, aimed at easing transportation concerns for back-to-school shoppers.
The initiative aligns with Arkansas’ annual state sales tax-free shopping weekend, traditionally observed during the first weekend of August, which exempts certain school-related items from sales tax, including school supplies and clothing.
“Many parents face challenges with transportation, especially during busy times like back-to-school shopping. We are pleased to offer this service to assist them in preparing for the upcoming school year,” stated Lee Wells, Director of JETs Bus Line. “Supporting our community and neighbors is at the heart of our mission.”
Detailed information about JETs Bus’s regular fixed routes for the Aug. 3 service can be accessed on their website or by contacting the JET office at 870-935-5387. For further inquiries about the free service offered on tax-free Saturday or other services provided by Jonesboro Economical Transit, individuals are encouraged to reach out to Shelly Anderson, Marketing and Community Outreach Coordinator, at sanderson@jonesboro.org or by phone at 870-935-5387 Ext. 1712.
