Man With Warrant Arrested for Drugs in Paragould

PARAGOULD, Ark. – Authorities arrested a man for possession of drugs with purpose to deliver as well as other charges recently following his encounter with police in Paragould.

On April 20, 2024, officers were on patrol in the area of Pruett Street and East Lake Street when they made contact with a man who was walking. One of the officers asked if they could talk to him, to which is reportedly agreed, according to the probable cause affidavit. They obtained the man’s name at that time, learning he had a felony warrant through the Greene County Sheriff’s Office for probation violation.

After the suspect was taken into custody, officers found 12.2 grams of meth, a syringe, and a glass pipe used to ingest meth, all in a bag the man was carrying. Then, after arriving at the jail, officers noticed the suspect dropped two more baggies of meth weighing 2.6 grams.

When clearing the back seat of the patrol vehicle, officers found the man had opened yet another bag of meth and poured it in the back seat.

Kenneth Edward McCollum, of Paragould, was arrested for possession of meth with purpose to deliver, a class A felony, as well as possession of drug paraphernalia and tampering with evidence, both class D felonies.

Judge Dan Stidham found probable cause to hold the man. Bond was set at $50,000.
