PARAGOULD, Ark. – Authorities released probable cause affidavits detailing two different felony arrests that stemmed from alleged shoplifting incidents recently in Paragould.
The first incident happened on March 29 when Paragould officers were dispatched to Walmart, 2802 W. Kingshighway, in reference to a shoplifter. Employees told police the suspect attempted to pay for items at the self-checkout line but her card was declined. She allegedly ignored that and continued to leave Walmart with the unpaid items. In total, $314.02 was allegedly taken.
Cassidy Easter, 39, was arrested. During a search, police reported finding two syringes and a glass pipe commonly used to ingest methamphetamine on her person. Police later learned Easter was found guilty in 2023 for a drug paraphernalia charge. During an interview, police alleged she gave self-incriminating statements.
Easter is being charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class D felony, and theft of property, a Class A misdemeanor.
On March 30, Paragould police were dispatched to Walmart regarding a shoplifter. Authorities were told the suspect attempted to leave the store with unpaid merchandise totaling $317.97.
Police arrested Trisha Mount, 42, for shoplifting. Officers later learned Mount had been banned from Walmart property on June 4, 2019. Authorities are charging Mount with commercial burglary, a Class C felony, and theft of property, a Class A misdemeanor. Jail records show a failure to appear warrant was also present. In total, the bond amount for her release is at $27,500.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
