JONESBORO, Ark. – Two people were arrested after an SIS search that began when police drove by an open door.
It happened between 1:40 PM and 2:29 PM on March 22 at the 1000-block of N. Patrick Street. Investigators with the JPD Street Crimes Unit noticed a door wide open, prompting a closer look.
Investigator Tyler Williams walked up to the door and smelled marijuana coming from inside the apartment, the police report said. Officers then made contact with one of the two arrestees, known to be on SIS and to have a no contact order against him by the other arrestee, who was in the same room.
Police found 89 grams of marijuana, digital scales, a revolver, a yellow gas mask used to smoke weed, and plastic bags the report says are used to sell alcohol.
Jerome Casey, 36, of Jonesboro, was arrested. Felony charges include possession of a firearm by certain persons, possession with intent to deliver, and simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms. There were also charges for endangering the welfare of a minor and selling liquor without a license.
Quartina L. White, 33, of Jonesboro, was also arrested. (no mugshot available)
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
