Anderson Lands News Job with Jonesboro Radio Group

JONESBORO, Ark. – The woman fired for speaking at a public meeting against the mayor’s bond issue will be the Editor-in-Chief of a new news platform launching in April.

Rachel Anderson, the former digital media specialist for the Jonesboro Police Department who is suing the city for unlawful termination, has been appointed to run the Jonesboro Radio Group’s forthcoming news website, JonesboroRightNow.com.

“I am honored to be trusted with this role,” said Anderson in a release. “I hope this news site fills a gap that our community is missing in the journalism world. Following my career in the public sector, I consider it a privilege to serve and connect with my community in this new way.”

Speaking about Anderson’s appointment, JRG President Trey Stafford expressed his confidence in her.

“Rachel’s deep ties to the Jonesboro community, coupled with her extensive experience in digital media, marketing, and journalism, make her the ideal candidate to lead JonesboroRightNow,” said Stafford.

The website is slated to launch on Tuesday, April 2.

  1. Looks like a good deal for both, best wishes. NEA could use some journalism, it sure isn’t easy to find out what’s going on most of the time, as some people would rather have us not knowing.

  2. Maybe she will stop whining?! 😒 She made a choice to accept a job that had a chain of command in place. Chain of command should not be broke unless there is a true emergency. It was her job to follow all commanding officers and to keep unprofessional/under educated OPINIONS to herself especially when wearing the uniform. Rachel broke the ethics of her department and subsequently lost her job.
