One Person Shot During Attempted Robbery in Jonesboro, Police Report Says

JONESBORO, Ark. – One person was shot during an attempted robbery Saturday in Jonesboro, a police report said.

It happened Saturday evening, February 3, 2024 near the 2000-block of Belt Street in Jonesboro. The Jonesboro Police Department learned of the incident around 11 PM when they were dispatched to NEA Baptist, where a gunshot victim had arrived.

Jayden Clark, 18, was shot in the right arm during the incident. He was later transferred to Regional One Medical Center in Memphis for his injuries, the Jonesboro Sun reported.

Four suspects are listed in the police report. However, few details are available about any of the perpetrators.

Police found 9mm shell casings and a 40 caliber shell casing at the scene.

The report noted a 17-year-old was present in the victim’s vehicle at the time of the shooting.

The suspects face charges including aggravated robbery and first-degree battery, if apprehended.
