LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — A woman from Jonesboro recently scored a $1 million lottery prize playing the $20 $1,000,000 Cash instant game. She chose to keep her identity private and claimed her prize at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Claim Center on Feb. 1.

She bought the winning ticket at Kum & Go #390 on Southwest Drive in Jonesboro, her favorite spot.

A regular lottery player, she got the winning ticket on her day off, grabbing it while stopping at Kum & Go for a bathroom break. Despite not expecting to win, she decided to give it a shot. Scratching off the ticket in the store, she saw she hit the $1 million jackpot before revealing all the numbers.

Laughing, she said, “When I hit that—y’all don’t even want to know my first thought.”

Right after, she called her sister, repeating her name a few times before sharing the big win. She also told her daughter and grandchildren, asking them with a grin, “Do you love your grandma? Well, you’re really going to love her now.”

With her winnings, the Jonesboro resident plans to pay off her truck, land, and other bills. She’ll also buy a headstone for her son. Despite the win, she’s not thinking about retiring anytime soon.

“I’m not old enough to retire,” she said.

There’s still one top prize left on the $1,000,000 Cash instant game. For more info on how to play, check out MyArkansasLottery.com.
