PARAGOULD, Ark. – A registered sex offender is accused of rape and sexual assault involving two underage victims in Greene County.
On Thursday, Nov. 30, 42-year-old Kenneth Poore from Beech Grove found himself facing serious accusations as Greene County District Judge Daniel Stidham found probable cause to arrest him. Poore, previously convicted as a Level 3 sex offender in 2011 for sexually assaulting a child, now faces three counts of rape and two counts of second-degree sexual assault.
The allegations against Poore involve incidents spanning several years, where he is accused of raping one victim and committing second-degree sexual assault against their sibling, according to the probable cause affidavits. An interview conducted by an investigator from the Arkansas State Police Crimes Against Children Division revealed that the first minor victim disclosed multiple instances of inappropriate sexual contact amounting to rape by legal definition.
According to court documents, these distressing incidents occurred within Greene County between October 2022 and Nov. 28, 2023. Subsequently, during an interview with the victim’s sibling, disclosure of sexual acts indicating sexual assault was made, as outlined in the affidavit.
Presently, Poore is detained without bond at the Greene County Detention Center pending further legal proceedings.
Court records show Poore had previously been convicted in 2011 after pleading guilty to two counts of first-degree sexual assault involving a child.
Rape is a Class Y felony. A person who pleads guilty, nolo contendere, or is found guilty of rape involving a victim who is under the age of 14 must be sentenced to a minimum sentence of 25 years imprisonment.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
