JONESBORO, Ark. – Authorities in Jonesboro are currently investigating a case of forgery in which the victims had over $21,000 stolen from them.
The incident was reported on November 3, although it had occurred as far back as October 6. According to the report, a suspect or suspects stole a check that belonged to Benwood Farms and fraudulently made duplicates of the check. This illicit activity was carried out multiple times, with as many as six forged checks being created.
The suspects involved in this crime used the forged checks to obtain cash, resulting in a total loss of $21,491.59 reported by the victim.
The report lists four suspects, with one identified as male. Unfortunately, no further information is available regarding the suspects involved in this case.
Law enforcement is actively investigating the incident on charges of first-degree forgery and theft greater than $5,000, both of which are considered felonies.
