EVENING STAR, Ark. — An armed suspect who led authorities on a manhunt has been captured, according to Sheriff Brad Snyder. Multiple agencies, including the Arkansas State Police and the Arkansas Department of Corrections K9 Unit from Calico Rock, were involved in the search.
The suspect had fled from Randolph County authorities and was believed to be hiding in a cornfield in the Evening Star community. Couch Helicopter assisted with aerial surveillance, while tracking dogs from the Department of Corrections were also deployed.
Residents had been urged to avoid the area during the active search. Sheriff Snyder has now confirmed that the suspect is in custody and the situation has been resolved.
