Shooting Incident in Trumann Leaves One Injured; Suspect Arrested

TRUMANN, Ark. – A shooting incident occurred Tuesday night in Trumann, leaving one injured and another in custody.

It happened in the 300 block of Melody in Trumann. Trumann Police Department officers, assisted by Poinsett County Deputies, were dispatched to the scene at approximately 9:35 pm, a press release from TPD said.

Upon their arrival, officers discovered a male victim with a gunshot wound to his lower leg. The injured individual was provided immediate medical attention and was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital. Reports indicate that the victim was stable condition as of the last update.

Witnesses at the scene quickly identified the alleged shooter as 22-year-old Ethan Garrett Chambers, a Trumann resident. They also provided law enforcement with a description of the suspect’s vehicle.

Chambers was arrested at a residence on Harrison Street in Trumann at approximately 10:03 pm. He will face a Probable Cause Hearing on charges of Battery First Degree and a Terroristic Act.

Authorities are actively investigating the incident to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting and any potential motives involved, a press release said.
