Suspects shot at house with children in yard, report says

JONESBORO, Ark. – Tempers once again flared into gunfire Thursday in Jonesboro, this time with numerous children present.

Around 5:12 PM on April 6, the Jonesboro Police Department responded to the 3100-block of Meador Drive. The initial call informed police that a vehicle had driven by and its occupants opened fire while children were in the yard. The children present were ages 9, 11, 6, 7, 16, and 13. Several adult witnesses were also present.

Three suspects were listed in the report but their identities were masked. However, the detailed information describing each would indicate authorities have specific individuals in mind. Suspect one is listed as a black male, 19, 6’5″ and 250 pounds; suspect two is a black male, 17, 5’10” and 180 pounds; and suspect three is a black male, 20, 5’8″ and 170 pounds.

The vehicle involved was listed as a black Dodge Challenger Scat Pack, black wheels, and blacked out windows (the report also listed the involved vehicle as a Dodge Charger. Both are Dodge-brand cars. It could be that witnesses weren’t certain between the two).

Numerous officers responded to the scene with many working overnight into the early Friday morning hours, dates and times logged in the report said.
