JONESBORO, Ark. – A police report released on Monday states that a suspect fired several gunshots over the weekend at an address in Jonesboro but no assault occurred.

The incident happened between 12:20 PM and 1:10 PM on April 1 at the 500-block of E. Roseclair Street at an apartment. The police report says that a suspect fired five rounds from a firearm into the air.

No arrests were reported. It wasn’t clear if the suspect was present when police arrived and no assault was said to have occurred. However, the suspect resided at the address, the report said.

Since no assault was reported, the case was investigated only as a misdemeanor discharging firearms within the city limits incident.

A separate incident reported over the weekend in Jonesboro involved a gun being aimed at someone in what authorities consider an aggravated assault – but thankfully in that incident, the gun wasn’t fired.

The report says this incident happened around 12:35 PM on April 2 at Walmart, 1815 East Highland Drive. JPD was contacted at the desk about the incident after it happened. The victim, 20, alleged that a white male suspect driving a newer model green pickup truck pointed a handgun at him. Most of the details were masked in the report.
