Out-of-state fugitives arrested in Trumann

TRUMANN, Ark. – Two suspects with warrants from South Carolina were arrested this week in Poinsett County.

On Tuesday, March 7, the Trumann Police Department made the arrest, a release from the department posted to social media said.

Police received notification from their Flock Camera System that a vehicle from South Carolina wanted for warrants had been located. Officers with TPD, Poinsett County Sheriff’s Office and Arkansas Department of Corrections (Probation and Parole) arrested Anthony Howard, 19, of Williamston, South Carolina, and Grace Smith, 37, of Piedmont, South Carolina, for warrants stemming from a manslaughter that had occurred in Anderson County, South Carolina.

Howard’s warrant was for Manslaughter/Voluntary Manslaughter, and Smith’s warrant was for Discharging firearms into a Dwelling.

A 12 gauge shotgun was also located on the stop.

Both are being held pending extradition, the release from Chief Jonathan Redman said.
