
PARAGOULD, Ark. – A press release from the sheriff Saturday revealed the arrest of a jail officer in Greene County.

On February 24, 2023, authorities at the Greene County Detention Center were advised of inappropriate conduct by a male detention officer involving a female inmate. The female inmate was interviewed in the Criminal Division of the Greene County Sheriff’s Office.
The inmate disclosed deviate sexual activity that occurred between the potential defendant, Zack Gunn of Paragould, and herself while she was incarcerated at the Greene County Jail. The potential defendant was employed as a detention officer at the Greene County Detention Center at the time the sexual activity occurred.
Gunn was interviewed by Captain Rhonda Thomas. Gunn was taken into custody for Sexual Assault 3rd Degree, and was transported to another detention center to be held. A probable cause affidavit was submitted to Judge Bibb for review. Probable cause was established, and a temporary bond of $100,000 cash/surety was set.
As this is still an active investigation, no further information will be released at this time.
