IZARD COUNTY, Ark. – Authorities have announced the recovery of a passenger car from a river. Inside of it was a human body, the press release said.
On February 5 at approximately 6:35 a.m., Izard County Sheriff’s Office received a message from Stone County Sheriff’s Office about a possible vehicle in White River in Sylamore.
Stone County authorities, along with Arkansas Game Fish Officers, were able to locate a passenger car in the river with a body inside. Sylamore/Allison Fire Department assisted as well.
The vehicle was pulled on to the bank in Izard County. The Arkansas State Police, Izard County Coroner’s Office, along with the agencies previously mentioned are working the case.
The victim has been identified as Anita Farrier, 52 of Southside. The investigation is ongoing, however foul play is not suspected, the sheriff’s office updated Monday.
