Randolph County man arrested for child sexual abuse material

RANDOLPH COUNTY, Ark. – A man has been arrested in Randolph County on suspicion of downloading child sexual abuse material, a press release said this week.

Randolph County sheriff’s deputies were able to identify a suspect that was downloading child sexual abuse material on January 3 as part of an investigation. A search warrant was executed in the northwest part of Randolph County on January 10. The suspect was at home at the time of the search warrant, the press release from Sheriff Kevin Bell said.

Authorities arrested Gary Hayes on five counts of Pandering or possessing visual or print medium depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child, and five counts of Distributing, possessing, or viewing of matter depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child.

This is still an ongoing investigation, assisted by the Arkansas State Police Criminal Division and the FBI Jonesboro Field Office, the release said.

No other details were released by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Department.
