
Jonesboro, Ark. – A frightening incident took place late Sunday at JCPenney in Jonesboro.
At about 7:43 PM, the report states subjects came into the business at 3000 East Highland Drive and assaulted cashiers. A 16-year-old female victim was pepper sprayed in the incident. They then began breaking glass display cases and stealing jewelry from the store.
Officers arrived at 7:49 PM and began to gather statements and investigate.
An estimated $8,000 in jewelry was reported stolen in the initial report.
Five male suspects are listed in the report, four of which are believed to be age 17-20. All wore ski masks in the robbery. The suspects were last seen in a black Volvo XC90 SUV used in the robbery.
At 12:32 PM, Public Information Officer Sally Smith said the department is working with the business’ corporate office to retrieve security footage.
