Harrisburg man arrested for allegedly downloading child pornography

A press release posted to social media detailed the arrest of a Harrisburg man on allegations involving child pornography.

The JPD Internet Crimes Against Children Division, along with the Poinsett County Sheriff’s Office, arrested 64 year old Gary Mann on April 1 at his home in Harrisburg. Mann’s arrest was the result of a search warrant for his address based on findings from an online investigation.

Police say it was found that the suspect was downloading and sharing hundreds of sexually explicit photos and videos of children as young as 12.

Mann was turned over to the Poinsett County Sheriff’s Office and was charged with Distributing/possessing/viewing subject matter depicting sexual conduct involving a child.

If convicted, he could face up to 10 years in prison per each illegal image.
