Suspect arrested in Sunday Jonesboro shooting

JONESBORO, Ark. – A shooting that was reported Sunday evening in Jonesboro was apparently during an armed robbery.

At 9:41 PM, the Jonesboro Police Department posted to their social media accounts that they were investigating a shooting in southwest Jonesboro.

A female victim was been airlifted to the Regional One Trauma Center.

We later learned this had been a robbery after police released more info Monday.

JPD Officers and US Marshals announced 19 year old Maxwell Lloyd of Jonesboro was taken into custody Monday after turning himself in at the Police Department in relation to the shooting of 29 year old Abril Prince. Police said it happened while the suspect was attempting to rob her at gunpoint.

Lloyd was taken into custody without incident, was charged with battery in the 1st degree and aggravated residential burglary, and will be held at CCDC to await a probable cause hearing.
