Two killed in Tuesday wreck on Highway 63 near Hoxie

HOXIE, Ark. – Two people were killed and two more airlifted to Memphis after a severe crash Tuesday on U.S. 63 north of Hoxie.

Arkansas State Police Cpl. John Qualls completed the fatal crash summary, which said Thomas Scott Fling, 19, of Williford, and James Andrew Dickey, 71, of Columbus, were killed in the accident.

Police say Fling was driving a 1995 Chevrolet S-10 pickup north on U.S. 63. At 5:14 PM, police say the Chevrolet truck crossed the center line and went into the southbound lane. A head-on collision happened with a 2015 Ford-150, driven by Dickey.

Jacob Bryce Edwards, 18, of Hardy, was a passenger in the Chevrolet truck. Brenda Johnson Dickey, 69, of Columbus, was a passenger in the Ford truck. Both were airlifted with injuries to a Memphis hospital.

The report states weather conditions and road conditions were both clear at the time of the crash.
