JONESBORO, Ark. – The first shooting of 2020 in Jonesboro has occurred and two victims were shot in the incident.
Police were investigating a shooting at the Haven Motel that occurred around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday night, January 1.
The 911 call was about shots fired, with a dispatcher advising officers of people screaming for help and a female reportedly hearing six or seven gunshots. Police arrived and found a large pool of blood in the lobby.
Two victims were shot. A 21 year old male suffered gunshot wounds to the back, neck and chest. A 22 year old male suffered an injury to the left hand requiring surgery. Both were hospitalized. The condition of the victims has not been released by police.
JPD believes two suspects were involved, the initial incident report shows. Two black male suspects, believed to be age 21 and 22, were listed in the report. However, very little else is known about them, due to the information being masked.
