Officer wrecks patrol car in front of police station

JONESBORO, Ark. – An accident happened after dark Saturday night next to the headquarters of the Jonesboro Police Department on Caraway Road in Jonesboro.

It happened around 5:24 PM Saturday night. A Jonesboro officer was turning south off of Stallings and onto Caraway, JPD’s Public Information Specialist Sally Smith told NEA Report. Smith said the officer did not see a car traveling north and clipped them on their passenger side with his driver side.

Photos showed what appeared to be a civilian in the road. The extent of the injuries weren’t known to JPD.

The officer who was involved in the accident is Jake Jones.

  1. I wonder if he was on the phone or looking at the laptop.I bet we never see the dash or body cam footage.
