
JONESBORO, Ark. – An early morning call in Jonesboro involved police investigators and the coroner’s van.
A dead body was found on Samantha, off of Kathleen (near Hytrol) in Jonesboro. It was confirmed by JPD Sgt. Lyle Waterworth. The initial call came in at 4 AM as a medical assist but when responders arrived, they quickly called in police. Apparently, the man was dead and the circumstances were suspicious.
The death is being investigated as a possible homicide, Waterworth told NEA Report.
The JPD sergeant also released another curious detail: that was incident appears to have occurred outside of Jonesboro. Although police are still looking for answers, it’s possible the death took place outside of the city and the body was moved. This was not a certain detail but was being investigated.
Identity of the victim will be withheld pending notification of family.
According to the resident nearby, who awoke to a crime scene across the street and then told NEA Report about it, a male with no shirt was found in the back of a truck.
JPD’s Desk Sergeant confirmed at around 4 AM, a call on Samantha Drive was made.

At around 4 am on Sunday September 8th, The Jonesboro Police and Fire Dispatch received a medical call of a person not breathing in the 4700 block of Samantha. A local ambulance service and first responders arrived on scene and found the person to be deceased. Police determined the death was a possible homicide.
Initial reports indicated the incident happened outside of Jonesboro, we are investigating further to determine where the incident occurred.
The identity of the victim is being held pending notification of the family.
Police are still on scene and no report has been completed, updates will be made available when we have more releasable information
NOON UPDATE SUNDAY
Craighead County deputies are now involved in the investigation as well. A report from Region 8 News’ Miranda Reynolds said the body may have been transferred from south of Jonesboro to its location within the city limits.
Those people are from Trumann, they have been using both of those apartments, I’ve seen them moving stuff into that last apartment all the time, that man and man asked me , if he could have the wood in front of my house, I gave it to them
