A report from the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette states that Third Judicial District Prosecutor Henry Boyce will seek the death penalty in the case against Rebecca O’Donnell.
She’s accused of brutally killing former State Senator Linda Collins. Collins was found in early June at her Randolph County residence in an advanced state of decay. She had been murdered days earlier.
O’Donnell was arrested on her way to Collins’ visitation at a local church. The two were close friends.
The accused woman’s arraignment is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon. Boyce suggested to The Sun in a Tuesday story the judge might lift the gag order sealing the case. Despite that order, Boyce revealed he would be seeking the death penalty against O’Donnell. She’s charged with capital murder, abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence.
