JONESBORO, Ark. – Rocket is back in service for Jonesboro police.
The K9 was wounded in a training incident that happened in April. While off the leash at the shooting range, Rocket engaged an officer who shot the dog.
Fortunately, the dog was not mortally wounded.
His handler, Officer Jason Myers, was suspended for one day for allowing the dog off his leash at the range.
It received significant attention across area media after it wasn’t released until NEA Report learned of it through an anonymous source.
On Monday, JPD released via their Facebook page that Rocket had passed recertification and was back in service in Jonesboro.
