One shot early Wednesday in Jonesboro

JONESBORO, Ark. – A man has been shot early Wednesday in Jonesboro.

Jonesboro police are currently looking for a shooting suspect who wounded a man in the Fox Meadows subdivision, said Public Information Specialist Sally Smith.

Several callers dialed 911 after they heard shots near Stonebrook Drive. It unfolded around 1 AM. The shooting itself, and the apparent crime scene, is on Southbrook Drive near Fox Meadow. After the male victim was shot, he crossed Caraway Road while bleeding from the hip. He knocked on a door of a home on nearby Sandbrook Drive. The resident answered and called 911.

EMS was called in and transported the victim to a local hospital.

Criminal investigators have been called in and are at Southbrook Drive processing the crime scene.

Police are still searching for the suspect. The victim struggled to give an accurate description during initial interviews with police.
