
CALICO ROCK, Ark. – A man was arrested for a burglary after his cell phone was recovered at the scene of the crime.
According to Chief Deputy Earnie Blackley on March 5, Deputy Jaden Whitfield was dispatched to Calico Rock to the VFW to take a break-in report. Jack Wilson the manager of the VFW advised the VFW had been vandalized. Entry was gained by busting a back window. Mr. Wilson advised that the oven window was smashed, all the coffee pots were busted, cash box was taken and the place was trashed.
There was a phone found at the window where entry was gained. Also, on March 6, Judy Fitzpatrick advised that her store had been broken into over the weekend. Fitzpatrick advised that there was some tools and other items taken. A search warrant was executed on the phone and it was found to belong to Jessie A. Sanders.
Jessie Sanders was interviewed about the break-ins. Sanders was charged with two counts of commercial burglary a class C felony, criminal mischief 1st degree a class D felony, and two counts of theft of property a class A misdemeanor.
Sanders is incarcerated in the Izard County Detention Center in lieu of a $20,000 bond. Incident still under investigation, said the release.
