19 Year Sentence Under Agreement

JONESBORO, Ark. – Austin D. Ivy, 17, has entered a plea of first degree murder, announced prosecutors Monday.

He will be sentenced to 19 years in the Arkansas Department of Correction under the plea, a release said.

The plea arises from the March 27, 2017 murder of Alicia “Bird” Carr, 21, of Paragould.

Sentencing was continued until Nov. 14, 2017, a release from District Prosecutor Scott Ellington said.

Deputy Prosecutor Grant DeProw thanked Detectives Keri Varner and RJ Smith, Deputy Prosecutors Charlene Henry and Tiarra Tanner for their hard work.
