JONESBORO, Ark. – A man described as bipolar and schizophrenic was also in possession of guns when he allegedly made threats to kill his wife, whom he had just kicked out of the house, a JPD incident report described.
Officers were dispatched to the 800-block of Hester on Friday, June 23, in reference to an unwanted guest. Because of the nature of the report, NEA Report is opting to leave all names masked. The person who called police was actually the suspect male, 58, who said his wife, 66, would not leave the residence and was knocking on the door. The officer arrived to find the woman with her aunt, sitting under the car port with a pile of clothing and property. She said the suspect had thrown her belongings out, forcing her and the other woman out of the home.
The incident began the night before, the wife said, when her aunt had fallen and urinated on herself. The man, described as bipolar and schizophrenic, became infuriated and started yelling at the aunt. He told them they had to leave and threatened to kill them several times if they did not leave, the report said.
“I’m going to kill you and leave you for the dogs,” the wife said her husband said. “I oughta get that gun, shoot you and her and put you both out of your misery.”
The man eventually let officers in to talk to him but remained aggressive and uncooperative, the report said. He was arrested for felony first degree terroristic threatening and two counts of third degree assault on a family or household member.
A 9mm handgun and a .380 handgun were both collected and logged into evidence.
