JONESBORO, Ark. – A new Centennial Bank Welcome Center and bank branch will soon be constructed on the A-State campus in Jonesboro.
In a press release, Deana Osment, NEA Division President, announced Monday the collaboration between Arkansas State University and Centennial Bank on the construction of a new Welcome Center and bank branch on the Arkansas State University-Jonesboro campus.
“Arkansas State University is vitally important to our community and region,” Osment said in a release. “We are excited to further our support of Arkansas State by expanding our presence on the A-State Jonesboro campus”.
The 3,833 square foot Welcome Center will house a visitor’s center as well as a Centennial Bank branch and will become the new entrance to campus.
“This partnership with Arkansas State University will allow Centennial Bank to provide convenient and innovative banking services to the students, faculty and staff at A-State, and will allow first-time visitors to experience the essence of Arkansas State in a friendly, modern space,” Osment continued.
Arkansas State University System President Dr. Charles L. Welch said A-State was appreciative of Centennial for their continued support of the university.
“This public-private partnership is another example of our commitment to a strong working relationship with the communities we serve,” Welch said. “This Welcome Center will benefit thousands of future students and their families, and we are so thankful for Centennial Bank’s contribution to this exciting new facility on our beautiful campus.”
Dr. Rick Stripling, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs stated, “We average over 6,000 scheduled campus visits per year, and the Welcome Center will serve as our launching pad for touring our beautiful campus. The Office of Recruitment will have a full-time person coordinating the campus experience from this center. We will have a new front door to Arkansas State. This will allow visitors to drive through the heart of campus life to ultimately reach the easily accessed Welcome Center.”
Centennial Bank and A-State will hold a ground breaking ceremony which is to be held on Tuesday, June 27 at 2:30pm at 2105 Aggie Road. The event is for media only.
