Morphine found on Trumann absconder during arrest, says report

JONESBORO, Ark. – A powerful drug often used for surgery patients was located on a probation absconder during an arrest Wednesday afternoon in Jonesboro.

Andrea Leann Mason, 25, of Trumann, was arrested during the 3 p.m. hour by the JPD Street Crimes Unit at the area of Bridge and Allen Streets. Officer Chris Jefferson approached Mason for a consensual encounter and after running her through dispatched, learned she was a probation absconder. She also had warrants for her arrest from Trumann and Poinsett County.

She was arrested and taken to Craighead County Detention Center, where a yellow morphine pill in a tissue was found during a search. A small clear-container inside of her bra also contained a white pill. The yellow pill was identified as morphine, the report said.

She faces felonies for absconding, possession of a schedule I or II drug and furnishing prohibited articles.
