"KK" gets $5 million bond

JONESBORO, Ark. – A man accused of murder in the shooting downtown from over the weekend was in court Friday afternoon.

Kalius “KK” Lane, 20, had a $5 million bond set by Judge David Boling on Friday afternoon. Lane appeared in court via video and spoke briefly and quietly as he answered the judge’s questions.

Lane is accused of first degree murder and six counts of felony first degree battery in the Sunday morning shooting at The Basement in Downtown Jonesboro.

One witness told JPD she had been told Lane was “down the street with a gun,” the probable cause affidavit said. Another identified Lane as the suspect that shot and killed Montario Barnes.

A third witness captured the shooting incident on video via his cell phone.
