
JONESBORO, Ark. – A suspect accused of being intoxicated behind the wheel is also facing accusations his acts sent someone to the hospital in a three vehicle wreck.
At about 3:26 p.m. Friday afternoon, Jonesboro police were sent to Advanced Auto Parts, 240 East Highland Drive, where a three vehicle collision with injury had taken place. One suspect had already been taken to St. Bernard’s Medical Center via ambulance as Officer Francisco Matos arrived on the scene.
Matos made contact with the at-fault driver, Ulysses Sam Campbell III, 37, of Proctor and reported he could smell the odor of alcohol immediately when speaking to him. He administered a field sobriety test, to which Campbell had difficulty. He was arrested.
At Craighead County Detention Center, Campbell blew a 0.12 into the Intoximeter, the report said, but asked for a second test at a different location. Campbell was transported to the Justice Complex on Washington in Jonesboro and almost three hours after the first test, blew a 0.10 into the Intoximeter.
Campbell faces charges including a DWI and careless and prohibited driving, both misdemeanors.
