Illegal dumping site discovered in county

JONESBORO, Ark. – While on patrol over the weekend, a deputy discovered yet another illegal dump site in Craighead County.

Deputy Bobby Swan with Craighead County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Craighead County Road 607, about one and a half miles outside of the Jonesboro city limits. The call was about abandoned waste, which Swan soon discovered.

A large pile of trash filled the ditch on the country road. Amongst the items were a mattress, a box fan and more items. Photos of the scene were taken.

If deputies are able to locate personal information in the trash, it can lead to the offender. Deputies often give the litter bugs a chance to clean their mess up before facing charges.

Anyone with information may contact the Jonesboro Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division at (870) 935-6710 or Crime Stoppers at (870) 935-7867 (935-STOP.)
