
JONESBORO, Ark. – The week begins with a shooting in Jonesboro.
JPD investigating a shooting incident that occurred early Monday morning, March 27.
Officers responded to a shot-fired complaint in the 400 block of North Allis Street at 12:49 a.m., and upon arrival found one person suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment. The victim is still at the hospital. The condition of the victim is not known at present.
Detectives with the Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division are gathering evidence and interviewing potential witnesses. No one has been arrested in connection with the case.

A woman shot in an incident early Monday morning has died and officers are pursuing a number of leads in the case.
Officers responded to a shot-fired complaint in the 400 block of North Allis Street at 12:49 a.m., and upon arrival found a 21-year-old female suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment. The victim died early this morning at the hospital.
Jonesboro police have not released the identity of the victim pending the notification of the victim’s relatives.
Detectives with the Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division have gathered evidence and have interviewed a number of potential witnesses. Detectives are pursuing a number of leads in the case. Officers believe the shooting followed an altercation.
