Vacation post may have made woman target for burglars

JONESBORO, Ark. – After a woman went live on Facebook from Branson, Missouri, she became a target for burglars and the two incidents may have been related.

At about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, the report was made at the 1600-block of West Washington Avenue. The resident, who had been out of town from Saturday, March 18, to Tuesday, March 21, returned home to find the front door kicked in and personal property missing. The kitchen sliding door was also open, possibly providing an escape route.

Fingerprints were collected on the glass sliding door of the kitchen and logged into evidence at Jonesboro Police Department. 

The resident also stated that she had mentioned on Facebook that she was in Branson, Missouri on vacation. She resident had done a live broadcast while in Branson, which she seemed to believe could have tipped off the criminals.

Several thousands of dollars of goods were stolen, including:

  • 20-inch chrome truck rims ($3,500)
  • 55-inch Vizio Hisense Television ($600)
  • 32-inch Vizio Television ($150)
  • Grey Ugg Boots ($80)

The culprits face felony charges including residential burglary and theft greater than $1,000.
