Good samaritan rescues disabled 3-year-old

JONESBORO, Ark. – There is still good in this world.

One such example came in the early hours of Friday morning. Just before 1 a.m., a man, Josh L. Caughron, came upon a shivering 3-year-old child walking alone toward the intersection of Flint and Nettleton. He wasn’t wearing warm clothing and at the time, the temperature was 25 degrees Fahrenheit.

Caughron stopped and asked the little boy if he was lost. He offered him a blanket and allowed him to warm up in the front seat of his car while calling 911.

Jonesboro Police Department arrived to help find the child’s parents. A 911 call was shortly placed by the family, searching for their lost toddler.

Police arrived to find the mother crying outside of the home. She told authorities she had put the child to bed but he had gotten out in the middle of the night, escaping through the front door – where a lock was broken.

The parents were advised to ensure the child’s safety and the child was released to the mother and her boyfriend.
