JONESBORO, Ark. – An improvised device gave officers a scare Tuesday.
Jonesboro police on Tuesday halted traffic along Wood Springs Road south of its intersection with Neely Road for a brief period while officers checked a suspicious object in the roadway.
An officer spotted the object about 1:47 p.m. and requested that the department’s tactical robot be brought to the area to inspect it.
Upon inspection, officers determined the object to be a can of PVC pipe cleaner and can of PVC pipe joint glue that had been taped together, perhaps for convenience of use. It is believed the cans fell off a worker’s truck and onto the road.
Officers removed the cans and re-opened Wood Springs to traffic at 2:12 p.m.
