JONESBORO, Ark. – Besides the Craighead County courthouse, there is probably not many places one could find so many elected officials as the parking lot of Walnut Street Baptist Church in Jonesboro on election day.
Candidates for all offices from county to municipal races waved signs and made their final election day pitch to voters Tuesday, although the lines were reportedly rather short and several said it seemed much quieter than usual.
Much of that could have been the surplus of 20,000 early voters who instead cast their ballot in the previous two weeks.
Polls close at 7:30 p.m. in Arkansas.
