JONESBORO, Ark. – A 16-year-old boy was arrested Tuesday at a school for allegedly threatening to shoot a girl.
It happened at about 9:20 a.m. Tuesday morning at Success Achievement Academy, where Jonesboro Police Department met with a teacher who said a girl, 16, had approached her and told her she was having issues with other students. During that conversation, the suspect apparently interrupted the victim and said she could meet him “around the corner by his house and he would shoot her.”
The police report states the suspect was called to the principal’s office and admitted to threatening to shoot her. However, he said the threat was in response to the girl threatening to also shoot him.
The girl repeatedly denied ever saying this.
The juvenile suspect was arrested for second degree terroristic threatening, a misdemeanor, and taken to the juvenile detention center. The case has been referred to the juvenile division.
