JONESBORO, Ark. – A man was arrested for aggravated assault after an incident involving a gun, a broken phone and him allegedly choking a woman.
It all began with a disturbance call at 11:15 p.m. Friday night at the 300-block of Belmont Street. Police made contact with Lynn Hon, 35, of Jonesboro, along with the complainant, a female who was “very upset.”
She told police she let Hon in and they began to argue. She said he wanted to get his Remington rifle but she wouldn’t let him have it because he owed her money for rent and utilities. Officer Cameron Hogan noted the fight began at this point.
“They began to fight and this is when Hon choked and held Nichols down,” Hogan wrote in the report. “She explained that when she finally got him off of her she told him that she would get the gun but this is when Hon threw her phone and broke it. When asked, Nichols showed us her neck and we could see red marks around her neck.”
Hon’s side of the story was that she had thrown his rifle down the driveway and he threw her phone and broke it. He admitted to the argument and breaking her phone, the report details. He also had some scratches on his left cheek, which he said must have come from her. A check of Hon revealed he had out of town warrants from Randolph County.
Hon was arrested and faces charges including felony aggravated assault, along with the out of town warrants. He was booked at Craighead County Detention Center.
